Custom Polyurethane Labels
A polyurethane label seals your printed graphic under a thick, crystal-clear resin dome. Unlike epoxy, polyurethane resin will not yellow, cloud or crack — it stays optically clear and slightly flexible, so it survives UV, water and years of handling. Why Polyurethane Instead of Epoxy
Both build a dome — but they age very differently. Here is why polyurethane is the specification for labels that have to last.
Stays Clear, No Yellowing
Epoxy ambers under UV within a season or two. Polyurethane resin is UV-stabilized and keeps its water-clear finish for years.
Flexes Instead of Cracking
Epoxy cures rigid and hairline-cracks on curved or flexing parts. Polyurethane keeps a slight elasticity and stays intact.
Impact Absorption
The elastic polyurethane layer cushions knocks and stone chips that would chip a brittle epoxy dome.
Full Waterproof Seal
The print is fully encapsulated — water, humidity and wash-down never reach the ink.
-40°F to 180°F
Stays bonded and clear through freeze-thaw cycles, engine-bay heat and direct sun.
Any Shape, Any Size
Circles, rectangles, ovals or a die-cut to your exact logo outline, from 0.5" badges to large nameplates.
Where Polyurethane Labels Are Used
Product & OEM Branding
Appliances, tools and electronics — a raised maker’s mark that signals quality.
Automotive & Fleet
Emblems and badges that look factory-installed and survive car washes and sun.
Industrial Equipment
Rating plates and brand marks on machinery that must outlast the equipment itself.
Marine & Powersports
Hulls, jet skis and ATVs where full waterproofing is the baseline requirement.
Medical & Instruments
Clean, durable identification that resists wipe-down disinfectants and handling.
Sporting Goods
Gear and equipment badges that keep their gloss through outdoor use and abrasion.

Polyurethane Labels FAQ
What are polyurethane labels?
Polyurethane labels are printed labels sealed under a raised layer of clear two-part polyurethane resin. The dome magnifies the artwork into a glossy, three-dimensional surface and encapsulates the print so it is waterproof, UV-stable and abrasion-resistant. They are also called polyurethane dome labels or resin domed labels.
Are polyurethane labels better than epoxy dome labels?
For most outdoor and long-life uses, yes. Epoxy is cheaper but ambers (yellows) under UV and turns brittle over time, so it hairline-cracks on flexing surfaces. Polyurethane resin stays optically clear and keeps a slight elasticity, so it absorbs impact and bonds to curved parts without cracking. If the label lives outside or on equipment, polyurethane is the durable choice.
Are polyurethane labels waterproof and suitable for outdoors?
Yes. The print is fully encapsulated under the polyurethane dome, so water, humidity and wash-down cannot reach the ink. The resin is UV-stabilized and rated from -40°F to 180°F, which makes these labels standard for equipment, vehicles, marine and other outdoor branding.
Can you make custom polyurethane labels from my logo?
Yes. Send any common file (AI, EPS, PDF, PNG, JPG) and we print your artwork in full CMYK color, cut it to your shape and dome it with crystal-clear polyurethane resin. The online configurator shows a live 3D preview with the dome applied before you pay, and we send a digital proof before production.
How much do custom polyurethane labels cost?
Pricing depends on size and quantity, and per-piece cost drops steeply with volume — a typical 2-inch label runs roughly $2.45 each at 100 pieces and under $0.80 each at 1,000. The minimum order is 100 pieces per design. Exact prices for your size are calculated instantly online, no quote request required.
